To clean wicker, a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment might be all it takes. But if the piece has deep, dirty crevices, an air compressor and blow gun tool (or simply a can of compressed air) will work better.

Rafael Morgan’s “UnsTable” is a genial concept table is currently being prototyped in Europe at the Studio Mango but will be manufactured in Brazil by Rafael’s design company VIRA. This table gives the illusion of being a shaky table thanks to the clever use of movable Beverly Hills: Block / Leather Sofa Setss round a stable rod. However the in reality the table is pretty grounded and will not spill or topple anything. Tukannki - A Finnish Design to Replace Wooden Chopsticks
Inspired by the eating bill of the colorful species of parrots known as the Toucan, Tukannki is a new design as an alternative to wooden chopsticks. Lincoln Kayiwa is a Finnish designer and recent graduate of the University of Art and Design Helsinki UIAH in 2007. Shell House in the Japanese Forests
The Shell House designed by Artechnic, something that you would expect to see on the shore of the ocean, is one of the most amazing architectural designs I’ve seen. Deep in the woods of Karuizawa, in the Nagano prefecture of Japan, this amazing double-elliptical holiday retreat, features lots of space and is made of reinforced concrete and wood to preserve the Japanese “traditions”. Inspired from the conch-shell, the amazing shape really got us drooling, but even though it’s an amazing structure I’m not sure if I’d be able to live with the animals. Would you? - via
New Trend : Portable Fireplaces
There is nothing more mesmerizing than watching the flames in a fireplace on a chilly night. However, fire places are usually set in the wall of a Living Room or consists of some fire pit outside in the garden. This means you have to be where the fire places are in order to enjoy them. Wouldn’t be nice if you could have a fireplace wherever you are? Now you can. Here are two portable and flue-less fire places that you can use either indoors or outdoors. Put them on the floor, the patio pr even a shelf or table top and you’ll have an instant fireplace.
The Travelmate by the German design firm, Conmoto is a black powder coated steel design which uses biofuel in a hidden tank. To light the fire, just remove the glass pane which is held in place by magnets. A stainless steel slide on the front of the fireplace regulates the flames by opening or closing the fuel tank.
The Uni Flame is also another German design which resembles an aquarium. It costs 998 Euros and although the product datasheet lacks the information, it likely also uses environmentally friendly fuel like the Travelmate. Both designs certainly offer ambiance in stylishly compact designs. - Via and Via
