Leggera Bathtub A New Design from Ceramica Flaminia
The new Leggera bathtub from Ceramica Flaminia is a really interesting design, that looks more like a bigger modern bathroom sink. The lightness of the design, and the thin surfaces of the bathtub allows for a sense of freedom from the usual boundaries. The outside and inside of the bathtub are less marked, melting into one another with a sensation of airy relaxation. A stainless steel shower pole pierces through the porcelain effortlessly, as if it were indeed cloth. Aeron Chair Upgraded, New from Herman Miller the Embody Chair
You thought the Aeron was cool? Wait till you take a seat on Herman Miller’s new Embody chair. Herman Miller, the company that designed the iconic Aeron Chair, is back with a new ergonomic desk chair meant to enhance health and productivity of workers called Embody. Designed by the late Bill Stumpf and Jeff Weber, the Embody chair was made to respond to involuntary human behavior. “Sitting in this chair versus other chairs you can actually reduce your heart rate, increase your blood flow and open up your chest cavity,” said Jeff Jansma, director of new product commercialization. One significant feature of the new chair is an exposed spine-like flexing structure for the backrest.
The back moves with 56 flexors to support the occupant, and the seat cushion is topped with 93 connected plastic discs, or pixels, to move as the sitter moves. Embody, which comes in 13 colors and three finishes, has a price tag slightly higher than the Aeron, costing $1,595. It will be available at retail stores sometime in early 2009 and hopes to attract early adopters and Beverly Hills: Trend / Leather Sofa Setssetters in the market place. Although the company has yet to disclose if the two years of research it spent on Embody will spark future products, it concedes that there are other opportunities on the horizon. - Via

Further, if you only have one or two guests, you can just get out the amount of seating that you need. I am a big fan of having a backrest, but if space is extremely limited, a set like Cake can serve the amount of space well. Via.
Michael Dreeben's Teak Coffee Table Inspired by Nature
Michael Dreeben is a furniture designer and sculptor in Chicago, Illinois. The teak coffee table showcases his ability as a master woodworker. This piece strikes me in two ways that create a contrast and at the same time draw me in to the beauty of the table. The top of the coffee table has strong influences from nature. The boards on top look as though they came off of the tree in their natural state and have been place here as a testament to their inherit beauty. The rest of the coffee table creates the contrast. It is perfectly constructed, arranged, and aligned into a planned project. The boards on the bottom are meticulously arranged so that there is no margin of error between them. The remaining frame as well is put together very carefully creating a perfectly balanced object. So at the top you have nature, and beneath you have planned construction and arrangement of shapes. Home Trends Design Going Green
More and more people are going green with their homes, there is growing interest in environmentally friendly sustainable products, such as renewable material countertops and flooring in kitchens, and water-saving toilets and LED lighting in bathrooms. Every quarter the American Institute of Architects updates its Home Design Beverly Hills: Trend / Leather Sofa Setss survey and the fourth quarter dramatically shows the effects of the housing slowdown. One thing is for certain in the furniture business, Norwegians take great pride in their products. The Fjords collection from Hjellegjerde of Norway is truly a top of the line collection specializing in leather recliners and multifunction sofa groupings with a focus on form and ergonomics. Their concept has recently grown to include 5 base options for the recliner and ottoman sets, and sofa, loveseat, chair combinations carefully matched where comfort and functionality are of great importance for the sitting experience. Sofas and chairs have height adjustable neck supports on high back models with the built-in Fjords Active Release System that allows several head positions and ultimate neck support. I highly recommend the Fjords line for home theaters or modern interiors where comfort is highly important.
Bellato Rotating Bathroom and Kitchen Cabinets
Giralot is a design by Stefano Bettio that takes color to a new level. These rotating cabinets are designed for any room of the home. In the kitchen picture, Giralot is being used as a pantry with the colorful shelves available for storage while at the same time, bringing a lot of color into the other wise white kitchen design. The rotating bathroom cabinets create an awesome backdrop of purple, blue, and white creating a stunning visual for the home. Other ideas include media storage, entertainment centers, and general book shelves. There are many possibilities for this product. Here are two very unique storage cabinets from Oooms that are quite creative in function and design. The Rebellious Cabinet 1 which always has two of its drawers open responds when a push is given. The drawers can't be closed at the same time and a simple push will send the closed drawer open.
