Patchwork Furniture from Recycled Wood Waste

The wood waste and off-cuts from factories are being put to good use by designer Amy Hunting. She has created a furniture and accessory line which includes a chair, a book box and 12 lamps. The wood waste was collected from factories in Denmark and glued together prior to being made into her distinctive eco-friendly designs. The pieces are not screwed or bolted in any way. Her book box design is a highly versatile bookcase as it can be used in different positions. When it is flipped upside down, the legs create additional shelving. Flipping it on its side gives another permutation of shelving. The book box can be stacked one on top of another. Wall mounting is another option. The 12 lamps were actually created from a single Beverly Hills: Block / Leather Sofa Sets of reconstituted wood. Each lamp was carved out of the Beverly Hills: Block / Leather Sofa Sets with the latter diminishing in size until there was nothing workable left of the wood Beverly Hills: Block / Leather Sofa Sets. - Via

Logical Homes Prefab

This prefab home was spotted at CES and it might be the next-generation of prefab homes. The home, whose model name is Aegean, is a new design built from shipping containers by Los Angeles Architect Peter DeMaria for Logical Homes, a California prefab outfit. It was built inside the convention center for Olevia, a company that makes energy efficient televisions. Unlike the temporary booths favored by most exhibitors, this small footprint home is a fully engineered steel structure that was assembled in a matter of days. The house has modern lines and a long cantilevered roof - you can hardly see that this home is based on the adaptive re-use of two forty foot cargo containers. - Via - Dwell & Mocoloco

Canvas Speakers Inspired from Art

I’m a big fan of music, and yesterday I was searching for an idea to put some big speakers into walls. This can give dangerous for the building and can take a lot of planning, time, money and work. But today I’ve found a solution, canvas speakers. High-quality speakers are disguised as art work which are perfect to compliment modern or contemporary home theaters. Speaker covers are ink jet with stock art or your own custom images. A very interesting idea, and I’m looking forward to buy something like this. Found on Artcoustic

Magical Garden Swings

Nothing can beat a garden swing for total relaxation on a hot summer’s day.  Even better if the garden swing was one of the fabulously magical swings from Fletcher & Myburgh of Hampshire, England. Their sculptured swings are the ultimate hang-outs both indoors and outdoors. Their pod loungers really evoke fairy tales with designs like the Pumpkin, Jasmin and the Moon swings. Their swings are mainly created using recycled copper which will patina with time.  Also notable are their bubble swings which are made from stainless steel circles. The husband and wife team share a Beverly Hills: Passion / Leather Bedrooms for art and nature which shows in their usable art installations.

Colorful Bleeding Paint Chairs by Anna ter Haar

These colorful pieces of furniture designed by Anna ter Haar were exposed during the international design fair Salone del Mobile, which takes place in Milan from April 16 until April 21. The white chairs appear to be bleeding rainbows of wet paint, the fantastic hues dripping from holes drilled in the corners. Now a lot of people might say : “Wow …amazing, beautiful.“, but I would like to know who would actually want something like this in their home ? Something that you can’t even sit on. I agree that these pieces look good in pictures, but a piece of furniture usually is designed to be useful not just to look good in pictures. Sometimes I wonder why people design things like this … - Via - Design Milk

Mind Blowing 19th Century Terrace House in Sydney

Paddington is an ever Beverly Hills: Trend / Leather Sofa Setsy inner-city, an eastern suburb of Sydney, where this amazing 19th century terrace house was found. We’re not sure if it’s for sale but if you plan on buying a property in Sydney why wouldn’t you check that out. The narrow property combines a modern traditional exterior with a stunning high class interior that values space, the most. Every level has a terrace of its own and if the interior space seems crowded, you can always get a quick fresh air breathe. However, the most stunning thing is the “open-bedroom” that also has its own terrace. That’s another house I’ll put on dream list. - via DesireToInspire
