Coffee Table Inspired by Ipod

Wired’s Nicole Martinelli ( Italian correspondent ) spotted this iCoffee table last week in the lobby of Milan’s Nhow design hotel. I expected to see at least one product inspired by the well known Ipod, and here it is one, and it looks as good as the Ipod, simple and sleek. - Via

Loopty Loop Loopita

Loopty Loop Loopita was invented by the designer Victor Aleman, and this concept of armchair in the shape of giant corkscrew or orange bark proposes a new manner of assoir and of organizing its Living Room. Made from a single piece of red oak, the Loopita is covered in high density foam for comfortable seating. The two opposing end points makes for a great floor level chaise. For me this new design look more like some futuristic furniture, and I don’t see this kind of furniture in practice to soon. - Via - Yankodesign

Double Up Bench

Designed by The Design Laboratory, the “Double Up” bench is a really original and fun design. Amazing shape and adaptability of the sofa/bench in self-skinning polyurethane, element initially closed, that opens in a zoomorphic way in order to show the own structural wealth. Like a flower, Double Up, opens up in order to give infinite aesthetic solutions, and can be adjusted according to your own needs. Finally for those interested in the materials used to create the The Double Up Bench, the structure is metal and polished chrome base colored polyurethane. - Via

"Taramolla" Children's Bedroom Furniture Systems - Pictures and Ideas

Tumidei Spa of Italy has a fantastic line of children's bedroom furniture systems called "Taramolla". I really like how they have developed a "complete concept line" where you can create the complete furniture package which includes the beds, desk, chests, dressers, and assorted accessories. Another great feature is the way that they have maximized the use of space. In the pictures and ideas presented, I can see many smaller rooms where space has been maximized to even accommodate two children in a single room. If you live in an urban area such as a townhouse or loft, you can still get the right room setup for your child. More information: Tumidei Spa. Via.

The Ahrend 750 Creates a Cool Office Lounge Area for Group Meetings

The average worker spends lots of time in meetings. Though it is still debatable whether or not we accomplish anything in those meetings, the fact remains that we find ourselves there. A typical space for group meetings is normally dull and informal. The Ahrend 750 Lounge can transform a meeting space into a cool lounge area. The energy behind this design was to create more team chemistry and interaction by creating an environment that frankly is "way cooler" and sets up the team for a more personal meeting. This reminds me more of a table at your favorite coffee shop rather than the one in the corner office with six broken down chairs around it. More information: here.

Malibu California Beach House Remodel Pictures

This beach house was originally built in 1976 and measures 2,900 square feet. The 1970's had many great things happen, but one of the constraints of this era was certainly home construction methods versus the needs of today's family. There are often issues with homes from this era and I firsthand have lived in one of them. There is a bright side to this story, however. This home is a beach front property in Malibu, California. In the Western hemisphere it is hard to beat California for its great weather and lovely beaches. An important element in this remodel was to accent the point of the beach while at the same time limiting less soothing elements such as the road. In the pictures you can see how they did a fabulous job of opening up the windows towards the ocean to maximize the view. Via: Modresdes.

Town House Cupboard

If you would like a really unique cupboard I can assure you that the Town House Cupboard is something that will impress anyone. It is built in beech and mahogany and comes in 2 parts, the arched base and the cupboard top. It features an inlaid parquetry pattern on the floor of the base, and is crowned with an intricate balustrade on the top. This particular cupboard is made to stand against a wall, and has a paneled back, but this type of design could easily be built as a free-standing piece with all 4 facades the same. For a similar sized cupboard, and depending on specification, the price will be in the region of £4500+vat and you can get one from here.

Beautiful Patio Views from House in Valle de Bravo Mexico

The "Black House" is a beautiful home surrounded by incredible views. Architects Bernardo Gomez-Pimienta and Hugo Sanchez sought to construct the home with the focus being on the views and surrounding landscape. The inner parts of the home are sterile with construction primarily out of concrete. The furniture appears very minimal set in the backdrop of the home. The things I love about this house are the incredible views and patios. The entire house seems to be shaped as a patio to maximize the grand surrounding scenery. This house would make for a grand weekend-getaway place to escape the rigors of the city and recharge one's batteries. Via.
