Globus Futuristic Living Room Furniture from La Cividina

Designed by Stefano Bigi, Globus sparks the imagination about a futuristic Living Room. This furniture is constructed of fabric upholstery, wooden frame, and polyurethane foam. Functionally speaking, different shapes can be created by putting the pieces together as seen in the picture. The three pieces placed together give the sense of bench seating or a sofa without backrests. Likewise the polyurethane inserts can be taken out which can then be used as accent tables. I like the concept, but need to hold out for my own personal "comfort test". Via.

alsa corp’s stick-on stainless (fx)sheetstags: miscellanea

For those of us who want our decor to look like a million bucks but don’t have the cash, Alsa’s FXSheeting may be the answer to our prayers. Made from sheets of metal bonded to Lexan plastic (the same stuff used in iPods and Nalgene bottles), FXSheeting can quickly give the look of brushed metal, carbon fiber, and even solid wood to just about any surface. The results are so smooth that I had to do a double take on the dining table above–yes, those are copper sheeted placemats you see. Installation is incredibly painless: just peel and stick. Generally available in 24″ to 36″ rolls, the sheeting requires little more than a smooth surface to deliver beautiful results. The before-and-afters above really drive home the incredible difference this ultra-specialized contact paper can make. Above: I love the plain-jane countertop converted into a stainless steel surface (without the heft) and the carbon-fiber/stainless steel jewelry box. My top pick goes to the beautifully-finished brushed brass nesting tables - in fact, I think the larger one was previously a $20 Ikea coffee table. If you’d like to get a taste of what FXSheeting has to offer, consider ordering their sample pack. At $79, you get 13 varieties of their most popular surfaces in 6″ x 12″ sheets - good enough for a few test runs! $12-$15/sq.ft., d furniture Popularity: 7% [?]

jacaranda sofatags: livingroom

END TABLES WITH A SIDE OF COUCH is how we’d write the menu entry this sofa by R 20th Century. Designed by Joaquim Tenreiro of Brazil, the upholstered chair sits atop an expansive jacaranda frame with green glass tops flanking each armrest. We imagine the extra real estate would be great for get-togethers, although the sheer length of the piece makes it impractical for all but the largest of d furniture Popularity: 4% [?]

Sofa that converts into a bunk bed in two seconds

When I saw this sofa for the first time I’ve immediately thought at college, and those movies about cool college boys, and parties. This sofa would be great for something like this. During the day you can have a single cool sofa in your room, and when the night come, you and your roommate can convert it into a bunk bed in two seconds. Great for small places.  A sofa with removable covers and integrated/patented mechanism which transforms the sofa into a bunk bed. Doc XL furnishes the day area and with a simple movement transforms into a practical ready made bunk bed with integrated supporting ladder and protection guard.
