The Chesterfield Sofa gets a Modern Re-Make
Pictured here is the Chester sofa in white. In many ways it may look familiar to our readers since it is adapted from the classic Chesterfield sofa. For me the leather pattern is the give-away as it Mirrors the roots of the old classic version. But this new version is anything but a traditional piece of furniture. I would say that there has been a complete overhaul! Designer Amanda Levete was influenced by the classic sofa and sculpture as well. Sculpture came into play in the creation of the polyurethane shell upon which the cushion sits. The cushion was then transformed into a complete new shape creating a modern version of the old classic. Chester is a limited edition sofa which measures 39" x 112" x 28". Price: $19,344. Sipario - A Custom Wardrobe Made to Your Size Requirements
Sipario is a custom wardrobe sized to your own needs manufactured by Pianca Furniture. In the example here the wardrobe is painted in plana lobster red matte. The wardrobe features narrow vertical doors each coming with a metal handle. A great feature about this product is having them custom made to fit your room. Designed by Bernard Vuarnesson, this coffee table has a top in “carabottino” style, clearly of oriental inspiration. Two-piece Flower Vase in the Shape of a Whale
Here is a FRESH design from a FRESH mind, something like you’ve never saw before. Industrial designer Alessandro Bêda, from Portugal had a very interesting idea, when he designed this two-piece flower vase in the shape of a whale. The flowers, placed in the whale’s ‘blow hole’, are like a colorful burst of water spray. Bêda’s vase is still in the concept phase, but he is looking to have it produced and on the market. I hope that he will get lucky and find someone that will help him produce this vase, because the design looks very good, and would be great in any modern home. - Via

THERE’S A BIT OF DALI in these twisted stools by Lars Zech; that art is his primary calling is evident, as he prefers to be called a sculptor. Each stool has its own personality; some seem to sway with the wind, while others splay their legs out in seeming defiance. Zech’s choice of wood (oak, burnt oak and burnt ash) as a substrate is ideal, as the torturous passage of time is evident not only in its external contortions but the very grain of the wood itself; an oil treated finish allows the stools to remain in their natural outdoor environment.
